DOLE - CAR employees appreciates ISO 9001:2008
Realizing the importance of quality service to its clients, DOLE-CAR in coordination with the CRR Management Systems Consultancy conducted an "ISO 9001:2008 QMS awareness course" and "Appreciation of ISO:2008 and Leadership Commitment" training as a first step of incorporating Quality Management System into its operations on 13-15 December 2012 at Asin, Tuba, Benguet.

"Though DOLE-CAR is still in its infant stage in terms of ISO certification, the positive response of the staff for change indicates their willingness of embracing Quality Management System (QMS) in their day-to-day activities that will lead to the agency's continual improvement of delivering quality service" Director Henry John S. Jalbuena said.

During the first day, trainer / consultant, Cynthia R. Ramirez help the DOLE staff in understanding the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, in appreciating the impact of ISO 9001:2008 to QMS performance, and in appreciating the value of ISO 9001:2008 to continual improvement by painstakingly sharing her knowledge on ISO 9001:2008 principles, requirements, and application.

Ms. Ramirez raised the expectations for top management leadership and involvement in providing guidance to the overall QMS when she discussed "Appreciation of ISO:2008 and Leadership Commitment" during the 2nd and 3rd day of the ISO training. Particularly, she dwelled on Management Responsibility, saying that the perspective and authority that top management brings to ensure effective operation of the system (or the management's willingness / commitment) is imperative.

Jalbuena believe that in the near future, DOLE-CAR will be one of the few government agencies in CAR to get hold of ISO certificate manifesting the Office ability of ensuring that the services it produce are cloth with standards of quality that is widely recognized in all parts of the world.
