Inspection program nets DOLE 58 more trafficked workers
Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda D. Baldoz yesterday announced that the Department of Labor and Employment has rescued 58 more workers who were illegally recruited, trafficked, placed to an unlicensed recruitment agency, and forced to work in unsafe conditions as a result of its intensified campaign against illegal recruitment, trafficking in persons, and child labor.

DOLE-CAR Gears Up for OWS/BITS Surveys
(August 13, 2010)DOLE-CAR fields out project-based individuals to lead the simultaneous conduct of two nation-wide surveys consisting of the 2010 Occupational Wages Survey (OWS) and the 2009/2010 BLES Integrated Survey (BITS). Said surveys cover 48 establishments spread across the 6 provinces of CAR which form part of the total national sample frame of 6,779 establishments.

(July 28, 2010)In a Strategic Planning Workshop of the Education and Manpower Sector convened by the Commission of Higher Education-CAR on July 14, 2010 at the University of the Cordilleras, Lucille Gayaman, Senior LEO and Project Jobs Fir Coordinator of DOLE-CAR shared the results of the Project Jobs Fit among participants representing 9 institutions both from the academe and government agencies.
Ex-DOLE Official Swears in as Mayor of La Trinidad
(July 27, 2010)In a fully packed gymnasium where an estimated 5,000 people was in attendance, Atty. Gregorio Abalos, Jr. was sworn in as the new Municipal Mayor of La Trinidad, Benguet in a ceremony held last June 29, 2010, along with nine (9) other newly elected municipal officials consisting of the Vice-Mayor and 8 Municipal Councilors.
